I installed Silverlight 2 (Beta 1) today from the Silverlight.net site (http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/resources/installationFiles.aspx?v=2.0). It was a very fast installation and took a minute probably. I had Silverlight 1.0 installed already, but it updated without a hitch.
Once installation was complete is displayed a successful dialog –
After Silverlight 2.0 was installed, I installed the Microsoft Silverlight Tools Beta 1 for Visual Studio 2008 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=E0BAE58E-9C0B-4090-A1DB-F134D9F095FD&displaylang=en). This was almost a 55 MB download. Since I was running this on Vista it displayed a UAC dialog. Once I proceed, the Silverlight tools installation wizard was displayed –
It took little more time than the Silverlight 2 beta 🙂
Finally it displayed the successful dialog –
Installing the Silverlight Tools Beta 1 for Visual Studio 2008 installs the Silverlight project templates in Visual Studio. So now the New Project dialog shows the Silverlight apps –
